Masters module on Art, Design and Technology in the Arab States
Visual Communication has emerged in the 21st century as the industry with the biggest increase in demand for skilled professionals. It has developed into a new technologically facilitated art form.
UNESCO, in cooperation with LAU (Lebanese American University), AUB (American University of Beirut), ALBA (Academie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts),
and other universities around the Arab region propose the creation of a
master module on Art, Design and Technology for Arab States. The project aims at bridging the gap between academic disciplines of computer science and that of creative practice. The master module combines computing, design and creative practice.
The first master class will be organized on an experimental basis in
2005-2006 and will be evaluated by a panel of participating universities
before being integrated into existing curricula in the region.
This master module combines
creative practices, design and computing. It will be divided in three main parts:
Part 1: Online courses (3 consecutive courses + 1 wrap up/general discussion)
Part 2: Face to face course in Beirut, Lebanon Part 3: Final Project to be submitted online
